So, from the choice of school plays to showcasing a love of literacy as part of World Book Day, it has been wonderful to see close collaboration as a real feature of the early part of 2019.

Schools across the Unity Schools Partnership have been showcasing their love of reading by organising a World Book Day thunderclap.

The ‘Drop Everything and Read’ was initially started at Castle Manor Academy in Haverhill where students, regardless of the lesson they were in, picked up a book or reading device every time they heard the bell sound during the school day.

Westfield Primary Academy has retained its ‘Good’ rating following a recent Ofsted inspection.

The school in Chalkstone Way, Haverhill, was visited by Ofsted at the end of January and praised for creating a “vibrant learning environment that encourages pupils to engage in learning and celebrates their success”.
