Anxiety and Self-Harm – Information event for parents/carers

Date: July 12

Time: 6.00 – 7.00pm

Venue: Samuel Ward Academy

Rachel Welch from the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust has been invited to lead an information event for parents wanting to know more about how to support a young person suffering from anxiety, and who may be at risk of self-harming. Rachel Welch is the founder of Freedom from Harm, and has previously worked as the Director of Self Harm UK. Rachel is the trainer for the Eastern Region for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust. The Trust was set up in 1997 in memory of Charlie Waller, a young man who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. Shortly after his death, his family founded the Trust in order to educate young people on the importance of staying mentally well and how to do so.

The Trust publishes free resources for parents, professionals and others interested in mental and emotional wellbeing.
